Day 1: Udaipur – Kumbhalgarh (80 Kms Approx) – Ghanerao Trek (14 Kms Approx)
Sumer : (40 Min Approx)
After a leisurely breakfast take a drive to Kumbhalgarh, on arrival at Kumbhalgarh give a visit to the amazing Kumbhalgarh Fort which is a UNESCO world heritage site and claimed to have the 2nd largest fortified wall in the world.
After fort visit with your trekking guide and local navigator begin trek in the sanctuary area.
Beginning of the trek is downhill but soon it is gonna meet with relatively moderate terrain, a wide variety of flora and fauna can be seen on this trek and your guide will keep updating you with it, wild hogs, antelopes, grey junglefowls,partridges,quails, black faced monkeys are seen very often and if lucky you might get a glimpse of these animals and bird species, on the halfway mark we will take a short break near the crocodile lake which in the local language is called “Thandi Beri”, if lucky you might see some crocodiles here.
There is also a tribal village in the sanctuary area where reside the “Bhil” tribe and passing through it would be an amazing experience, on finishing the trek at the Jungle Lodge we will relax ourselves and have lunch.
Later after lunch we take a drive to Sumer where we will stay at the Sumer forest rest house, on arrival at the forest rest house we will pitch our mountain tents to accommodate ourselves, this will be a very natural experience in the midst of jungle, evening can be utilized by exploring the nearby shepherd villages.
Later In the evening dinner will be prepared with the minimum facilities we have at the forest rest house, this will indeed be a memorable experience.
Dinner and overnight at the forest rest house
Day 2 Sumer – Desuri Trek (12 Kms Approx) – Ranakpur (45 Min)
Today after breakfast we will begin our trek from the forest rest house itself, the terrain would be flat mostly with few gentle uphill,we will walk in the sanctuary area which would be very refreshing and a great variety of wildlife can be seen if lucky, we will also pass through some human settlements where we see the local life and culture.
After finishing the trek we will take a short drive to Ranakpur where we visit the Ranakpur Jain Temple which is a UNESCO world heritage site and the most beautiful and incredible temple you would ever see, this temple was build in white marble in the 15th century to honor Adinath, the first Tirthankar of the present half-cycle (avasarpiṇī) according to Jain cosmology, after Temple visit lunch at a local restaurant and then drive to onward destination.
